Yellow Orchids

Yellow and green orchid is now blooming. It is incredible. When it first bloomed, it looked green with just a little hue of yellow. Now they are mostly yellow.

Bobby brings them home from his clients. After they bloom they are tossed in the garage. He rescues them and I bring them back to life. They don't look so pretty when they have been neglected but I transplant them into a new orchid bark mix and wait. Sometime they take a year to bloom again. This one took about two.

I guess I have a place in my heart for neglected orchids. Patience and a east window is all you need.

Sold Elephant

Another Etsy Sale today. I wasn't expecting it this morning so it took me for a loop. My Birthday's coming up next week and I've been feeling old so this was a great little treat this morning.

The linen elephant is on it's way to Stamford, CT.

Have a nice trip.

January 2012

I came across this picture in my files from our family travels. It's Rottenburg Germany. One of the oldest cities in Germany and feels like you step back in time. It really is beautiful and as authentic as it can get.

Not much to write. We've remodeled our two bedrooms and I will post pictures soon. If my farm dream is a reality in 2013, we have to get the condo ready to sell.

I just read a blog about authentic living. Are plastic bags and cable authentic? Hmm..

Happy New Year 2012

Little Willow - she was actually posing and sitting still for us but this photo shows the bottle and hat so well. She's such a little trouper. No harm came to her at anytime and never will. She's a great cat. Not a load meow, short hair, and her purr can be heard in another room. Also, she sleeps through the night and only wakes us up if we sleep past 6:00am. We get up at 5 during the week so on the weekends, 6 is a gift.

Anyway - good things to all in 2012.

May you find your dreams. This year will be the road I'll travel to mine.

Ebay and Blackberry

Sold on Ebay. $.99 - that's what I listed it at and that's what it sold for. 99 cents.

I was cleaning out the spare room and thought I would list a few things on Ebay. This was a paper mache Santa I made years ago. Just a dust collector but someone bought it out of Georgia. Thank you for that.

On Monday after Christmas, I went to the garden for a few hours and cut down the blackberry bushes that have overgrown. Now, that was a job. I enjoyed it but it wasn't as easy as I thought. Each one of the long long branches had a million thorns. They would whip around each time I snipped or tried to move them. The area had never been pruned so the blackberry bushes were all one huge mass. I created two paths and pruned down all of the green shoots. Once I was finished, I had tiny scratches all over my legs and hands. I wore gloves and heavy jeans but those were some sharp thorns.

I'm smiling thinking about it. I would rather spend the day pruning then commuting.

Happy New Year
